Levels of endangerment- Low risk, Lower risk, vulnerable, endangered, critically endangered, and extinct.
Extinct- no longer in existence; lost or especially having died out leaving no living representatives
Endangered- Classification provided to an animal or plant in danger of extinction within the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its range.
Anti- Whaling- actions taken by those who seek to end whaling in various forms, whether locally or globally in the pursuit of marine conservation
Explosive Harpoon- a harpoon that has an explosive end that explodes inside of a whale's body.
Harpoon- a spear with a shaft and barbed point for throwing; used for catching large fish or whales; a strong line is attached to it
Marine conservation, also known as marine resources conservation, is the protection and preservation of ecosystems in oceans and seas
Preservation- the activity of protecting something from loss or danger
Conservation- Preservation or restoration from loss, damage, or neglect
Cetacean Bycatch- the incidental capture of non-target cetacean species by fisheries.
Cetacean Intelligence- the cognitive capabilities of the Cetacea order of mammals and especially the various species of dolphin. Cetaceans include whales, porpoises, and dolphins.
Baleen- the horny, elastic plates that hang down in fringed, parallel columns from the upper jaw or palate of baleen whales to catch food that filters in with water.
Baleen Whale- a whale that had baleen plates instead of teeth for filtering food from water.
Whaling- The practice of hunting of whales mainly for meat and oil.
